Our 6-night stay at Alton Marina was relaxing and gave us time to knock off some fixes on the boat and do some provisioning for the run to Green Turtle Bay Marina on the northern end of Kentucky Lake. This is a very nice town with lots of great restaurants and an interesting history.
That's the news and here's some views:

This is Raven, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who spends her days at the Mississippi Mud Pottery Shop. She sweetly greets everyone coming into the shop then rolls over for a tummy rub.
This sweet boy is Archer.. He also greets all the customers.
I'm enjoying these friendly dogs.
We had breakfast here one morning with our friends, Jim and Elle. They have made part of the old post office into a restaurant and coffee shop. They get their coffee beans from Seeds in Birmingham, AL
George had a pancake, ham and eggs with a nice cup of coffee. I had sweet potato hash. I can't recall ever having eaten "hash", but I think it usually has diced potatoes and meat. The sweet potato hash had diced sweet potatoes, black beans, crumbled bacon, avocado, and a soft cooked poached egg. It was really good! Loved the décor and the nice folks that worked there.
A repurposed piano! What a great idea!
I love to see the old and new churches in the towns and cities we visit. I get a good feeling as we approach a town by water and see church steeples in the distance.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
