Gray All Day

Today started out cloudy, cool and windy.  The wind has been blowing 15 mph steady for several days.  It was coming out of the east this morning, making our 30-minute dash from Pensacola South to Santa Rosa Island or Pensacola Beach rather rough.  Once turning east between Santa Rosa Island and Gulf Breeze we were going into the wind, and things got a lot smoother.  Viridian was turning about 7.5 mph with a 15 mph headwind all the way to Ft. Walton.  There are several incredible homes to see along the way on both sides, but today everything was gray.  The sky was gray, the water was the same color as the sky and that made the houses and land gray, too, so not too many photos today.  Once we arrived at the Ft. Walton City Docks we got tied up and walked to Publix on Miracle Strip with the crew of Moni-Jean and got provisions.   The Miracle Strip Parkway Bridge is within sight of our slip, the same bridge we drove over with our two boys years ago heading for the beach on Santa Rosa Island.

That's the news and here's the views:

  1. When I lived in Ft Walton, Los Panchos was my favorite Mexican restaurant; it's right where you are docked (if they are still in business)
