Are You Sure We Didn't Make a Wrong Turn?

Viridian and crew have been cruising the Florida Panhandle from Mobile Bay, AL to Carrabelle, FL.  Today we continued east against the relentless 15-20 mph wind to Port St. Joe Marina.  Tomorrow we will come to the final Panhandle stop before crossing the Gulf of Mexico to Tarpon Springs, FL.  We have been watching the weather predictions all week, and the weather wizards all seem to predict a Friday, Friday night to Saturday crossing window.  But about St. Joe, here are some words from their website:

The Port St. Joe Marina is at the heart of Florida's Forgotten Coast, on the eastern shore of pristine St. Joseph Bay on Florida's northwest Gulf Coast. Located between Panama City and Apalachicola, Florida, we are a favorite for transient boaters making their way along Florida's Intracoastal Waterway, not only because of our convenient location with all major shopping within two blocks, but because of the friendly staff and boaters that make the Port St. Joe Marina their home.

So how could we not stop here?  After pulling in, we hooked our hose to the fresh water outlet and gave Viridian a good wash-down to get all the salt spray off and try to stay ahead of the cleaning task.  Next, we walked into town to do some exploring, found a Piggly Wiggly and loaded up on crossing comfort food.  I also got a jig good for catching Pompano.  We will see..
